Danville man sentenced to four years in prison for sexually abusing a colleague | News

DANVILLE – A Danville man was sentenced to four years in prison for sexually assaulting a co-worker last year.

Vermilion County Judge Robert McIntire announced the sentence Wednesday for 30-year-old Kasey Hollis, who pleaded guilty in April to sexual abuse by force, a Class 4 felony.

In exchange for his confession, the state dropped five additional charges of sexual assault.

During the sentencing hearing, prosecutors presented evidence that Hollis forcibly touched a co-worker’s genitals in May 2023.

“After being sexually assaulted both verbally and physically by a man eleven years older than me, I now live in constant fear of being around and trusting men,” the victim wrote in a statement submitted to the judge.

“I want you to know that I will never think about you and the horrible things you did to me again.”Hollis was given credit for 315 days already spent in prison and must serve at least 50 percent of his sentence.
