Ragnar races cause delays on the Wasatch Back

WEBER COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) – The Weber County Sheriff’s Office It is said that delays around Pineview, Eden and Liberty are to be expected on Friday, May 7th as the Ragnar events begin.

The race is scheduled to arrive in Weber County at 10 a.m. and arrive in Morgan County around midnight.

However, these will not be the only delays expected across the state, as the race travels across much of the Wasatch Back.

“You’ll race through wildflowers at Avon Pass and through postcard-worthy scenery filled with horses and quintessential barns. We’ll run through some beautiful small towns like Kamas, Oakley and Francis. And if that’s not enough to enchant you, get ready for photo opportunities at Snowbasin and Guardsman Pass,” the race website says.

Ragnar’s goal is to “Make running a team sport“ with relay races lasting two days and one night.

“You’ll take turns running relay style, covering approximately 200 miles of beautiful country roads, past cityscapes and over rolling hills,” the website says. “When you’re not running, you’ll be cheering on the runners and enjoying all the sights and sounds the road has to offer.”
