Woman calls police after recognizing man she says sexually assaulted her in 2012

MIAMI – A woman called the police after she recognized the man who allegedly raped her in 2012.

The victim said she recognized 59-year-old Ralph John Davis as her attacker at a Motel 6 on Caribbean Boulevard on Wednesday.

The woman, now 34, said the crime occurred when she was 22.

She told police she was on a Metrobus and when she reached her destination, she got off the bus with Davis.

The victim said she was walking home and noticed Davis following her. The attack occurred as she entered the driveway of her apartment complex.

According to the incident report, Davis approached her from behind, put her in a chokehold and dragged her against a wall. “The victim repeatedly pleaded with the defendant not to kill her… Davis removed the victim’s clothing, dropped his pants and violently attacked her.”

At some point during the attack, the victim managed to escape and call the police.

The case remained open and unsolved.

Davis admitted that he rode the same bus as the victim on the day of the attack.

He has been accused of sexual abuse and is being held at the TGK.
