Woman shot in apartment complex; 4 suspects arrested and charged, sheriff says

TUNICA, Mississippi (WMC) – The Tunica Sheriff’s Office has arrested and charged four suspects in connection with the shooting death of a woman.

On Monday, June 3, at approximately 10:48 p.m., the Tunica County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting that a person had been shot at the Tunica Courts Apartments on Old Highway 61 in Tunica, Mississippi.

Sheriff’s deputies and first responders were dispatched to the area.

Upon their arrival, officers found a woman with a gunshot wound.

The woman was treated at the scene but later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead by the Tunica County Coroner.

The female victim was identified as Brenda Miller, 34, of Robinsonville, Mississippi.

On June 5, 2024, four suspects were taken into custody and charged – Jaylon Carter (21), Dequaveon Spears (21), Jaylin Liddell (17) and DeShaun Clayborn (16).

All suspects face multiple charges, with Clayborn and Liddell facing second-degree murder.
