3 men seriously injured after being shot following attack by CCL holder on NW side – NBC Chicago

A 43-year-old man with a license to carry a concealed weapon shot and wounded three men who attacked him late Friday night on Chicago’s northwest side, police said.

According to authorities, the man was outside his residence in the 4700 block of West Wrightwood Avenue at 11:23 p.m. when a verbal altercation occurred with three men known to the victim.

Shortly thereafter, the three men began attacking the victim, whereupon he pointed a gun and fired at the attackers, hitting all of them, police said.

  • A 29-year-old man was hit five times in the upper body and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition.
  • A 22-year-old man was shot in the chest and taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition.
  • A 55-year-old man was struck in the neck and taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition.

The victim suffered blunt force injuries to the head and body during the attack and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition.

The shooting is currently under investigation by Area Five investigators. No further information is available at this time.
