BJP leader Ram Kripal Yadav attacked by unknown assailants in Bihar, says he is safe

BJP leader Ram Kripal Yadav said on Saturday that his convoy was allegedly attacked by unidentified assailants who also tried to shoot at him.

Yadav said News18 that he was safe and that one of his followers had suffered a head injury in the incident. He mentioned that two or three similar incidents had happened to him in the past.

Yadav is the BJP candidate for the Patliputra parliamentary seat, contesting against RJD’s Misa Bharti, daughter of former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav.

Speaking to news agency IANS, Bharat Soni, Patna City SP (East), said the incident occurred when the BJP leader’s vehicle was travelling on the Patna-Jehanabad Highway.

Union Minister Giriraj Singh blamed the opposition for the attack and said the incident reflected their “deep frustration”.
