Hit and run in Waukesha; Seven-year-old child hit, police looking for suspect

A 7-year-old child was injured in a hit-and-run accident in Waukesha on Sunday, May 5.

The Waukesha Police Department said it happened around 4:30 p.m. Sunday near Bel Ayr and Magnolia. The vehicle hit the child and fled the scene.

Police said it was likely the driver knew he had hit the child and fled.

Police are asking people to identify any ride-sharing, food delivery app services or other special car deliveries that were occurring at the time of the incident. The delivery time frame would have been between 4:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m

Police said they believe a delivery took place somewhere in the area.
