First alert forecast: Some rain and rumbling overnight, then a windy Wednesday

ROCHESTER, NY – Tuesday’s perfect weather begins to change overnight, with a number of isolated showers and some thunderstorms moving in overnight. These will be the remnants of some storms that swept across the Great Lakes. We do not expect any storms, but heavy rain could occur. These occur between midnight and sunrise, meaning most if not all of the wet weather will be gone by Wednesday morning. Wednesday will be another pretty nice day with lots of sun and warm air, although we have to expect a noticeable westerly wind. An approaching cold front will bring some showers in the late afternoon and evening, but the majority of daylight hours will remain dry on Wednesday.

Our pattern will become more active and unsettled starting Thursday, with more clouds, cooler air and occasional showers on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Even though we will have to deal with wet weather at times during the opening weekend of the Lilac Festival and Mother’s Day Sunday, there will not be a catastrophe on any day.
