Trooper 4 reportedly first on scene of serious accident in Newark – First update from state

A serious traffic accident occurred this afternoon in the Redwood Court apartment complex in Newark. Delaware State Police Aviation Trooper 4 was reportedly the first to arrive on the scene (top center of photo). New Castle County Police, who were also on scene, subsequently requested an expedited response from a Christiana Fire Company ambulance.

The paramedic aboard Trooper 4 assisted arriving paramedics with at least one patient, described as a passenger. That patient was transported to Christiana’s emergency room. In the meantime, additional Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) units were dispatched to the scene to provide further assistance.

At least one patient was transported in very serious condition. It is unclear if anyone else has been transported at this time.
