Two civilians were killed and three others injured in a Russian missile attack on the village of Krasnopillia in Sumy Oblast, regional authorities reported on May 29.

The rocket was fired from Russian territory. Public buildings, including a cultural center, were damaged in the attack, the Sumy Oblast Military Administration reported.

Krasnopillia is located about ten kilometers from the Russian border and is regularly attacked by Russian forces.

Russian shelling of Krasnopillia on May 12 left one person dead and two others injured.

During the course of May 28, Russian forces attacked Sumy Oblast 81 times in 23 separate attacks, the government said.
