Shooting in Mercer County leaves one dead

SO. THAT’S COMING IN A FEW MINUTES. OKAY, MIKE, WE’LL SEE YOU IN A BRIEF. NOW TO FIGHT GUN VIOLENCE IN PITTSBURGH, LOCAL LEADERS SPEAK OUT AFTER DONALD TRUMP OVER THE WEEKEND PROMISED TO DEFEND THE SECOND AMENDMENT AND CALLED HIMSELF, QUOTE, THE BEST FRIEND GUN OWNERS EVER HAD IN THE WHITE HOUSE. PITTSBURGH’S ACTION NEWS FOUR REPORTER MARCIE CIPRIANI WITH MESSAGE FROM PITTSBURGH’S MAYOR AT GAINEY AND OTHERS TO MARCY. THEY BELIEVE TRUMP WOULD MAKE COMMUNITIES LESS SAFE AND MAKE THE GUN VIOLENCE EPIDEMIC EVEN WORSE IF HE GETS BACK INTO THE WHITE HOUSE. YES, SHANNON, THAT WAS YOUR MESSAGE WHEN YOU STANDED HERE IN WESTINGHOUSE PARK AND MAYOR ED GAINEY WAS TALKING ABOUT THE FEWER MURDERS HERE IN THE CITY OF PITTSBURGH IN THE LAST FEW YEARS. AND HE SAID HE FEARS THAT IF FORMER PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP GETS RE-ELECTED, HE WILL PREFER GUNS OVER SAFETY. MY SON WAS SITTING ON A BAR STOOL AND WAS SHOT IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD. IT’S THE STORIES OF VIOLENCE. THREE WEEKS AGO, TWO WEEKS BEFORE MY NIECE’S 42ND BIRTHDAY, WE BURIED HER AFTER SHE WAS IN A WHEELCHAIR FOR EIGHT MONTHS BECAUSE OF A SHOOTING IN EAST HILLS THAT SOMETIMES HITS FAMILIES AGAIN AND THAT PITTSBURGH MAYOR ED GAINEY SAYS SHOULD BRING HIM FORWARD IN HIS FIGHT AGAINST GUN VIOLENCE. HE IS PART OF THAT FAMILY BECAUSE HIS SISTER WAS SHOT AND KILLED IN THE CITY EIGHT YEARS AGO. WE HAVE TO REMEMBER THAT THE MORE GUNS WE HAVE ON THE STREETS, THE MORE VIOLENCE WE WILL HAVE. WE NEED SOMEONE WHO WILL DO UNIVERSAL BACKGROUND CHECKS. THAT’S EXTREMELY IMPORTANT. JOE BIDEN IS THAT. JOE BIDEN IS FIGHTING FOR IT. JUST LIKE WE’RE FIGHTING HERE TO PROTECT OUR CHILDREN. WHEN I LOOK OVER HERE AND SEE THESE LITTLE CHILDREN OUT HERE PLAYING, I WANT TO PROTECT THEM. I WANT TO PROTECT THEM. MAYOR GAINEY SAYS SAFETY IS THE FOCUS AND WHY HE SUPPORTS PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN AND SPEAKS OUT AGAINST FORMER PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP’S SPEECH TO THE NRA WHICH ALSO ADDRESSES SAFETY. THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT THE SURVIVAL OF OUR SECOND AMENDMENT IS ON THE BALLOT. YOU KNOW WHAT THEY WANT TO DO? THEY WILL, OH, IF THEY GET IN, OUR COUNTRY WILL BE DESTROYED IN SO MANY WAYS. BUT THE SECOND AMENDMENT WILL BE THAT IT’S UNDER SEEKE. BUT WITH ME, THEY’LL NEVER GET ANYWHERE. AND WE NEED THAT SECOND AMENDMENT FOR SECURITY, WITH BOTH SIDES HAVING DIFFERENT STANDINGS ON SECURITY. ONE LOCAL LEADER SAYS SHE HOPES A MESSAGE COMES CLEAR THAT WE NEED TO TEACH THIS ALL OVER THE UNITED STATES. GUN SAFETY SHOULD COME FIRST. IF YOU OWN A GUN. AND THIS IS SO IMPORTANT TO ZINA SCOTT, PRESIDENT OF THE ZONE FIVE PUBLIC SAFETY COUNCIL, THAT SHE HAS FREE GUN LOCKS AVAILABLE AT THE KINGSLEY ASSOCIATION DURING HER MEETING AT 6PM ON THE SECOND TUESDAY OF EVERY MONTH.
