Woman and 2 men arrested in armed robbery and shooting outside Miramar Flanigan’s – NBC 6 South Florida

A woman and two men were arrested in connection with an armed robbery and shooting outside a Flanigan’s in Miramar earlier this month after police said they left a trail of evidence after the crime.

Derricka Johnson, 36, Byron Williams, 18, and Keenan Clark, 21, were arrested on armed robbery charges in connection with the July 11 incident, Miramar police said Tuesday.

According to a police report, a man and his girlfriend were eating at Flanigan’s, 11225 Miramar Parkway, and were leaving the restaurant shortly after 12:30 a.m. when they were robbed in the parking lot by two armed suspects.

The suspects took the man’s gold chain, his girlfriend’s gold/diamond chain, and her wallet, which contained several credit and debit cards. Total damage was estimated at $20,000.

As the suspects fled the scene in a gray SUV, the boyfriend grabbed his gun and fired at their vehicle while a passenger in the gray SUV returned fire.

Apparently no one was injured by the shots. The police found 18 cartridge cases at the crime scene.

A short time later, while still at the crime scene, the girlfriend received several alerts from her bank that her cards were being used in Miami-Dade, the report said.

Surveillance cameras caught a woman using the cards at a Wawa in Miami Gardens. The woman was driving a gray Honda Accord with a unique sticker, the report said.

Two men later attempted to use the victim’s stolen credit card at a Sunoco in Miami Gardens, the report said.

Later that morning, a gray Hyundai Tucson was found in Miramar with “slashed tires and bullet holes,” the report said.

The video shows the vehicle, which was reported stolen in Miami Gardens on July 3, driving onto the Flanigans’ property and then leaving, the report said.

There was also an empty cartridge case on the floor of the Tucson that matched the cartridge cases found at the crime scene, the report said.

A suspicious woman and man were seen on the Flanigan’s security camera. Police identified them as Johnson and Clark. They were in the restaurant at the time the victims arrived, the report said.

The video shows them later leaving the restaurant and walking to the parking lot.

Investigators tracked down the Accord with the unique sticker and the owner said he rented it to Johnson, the report said.

The owner also said he had rented the Hyundai to Clark and that Clark had called him to tell him that the Hyundai had been “shot up” and to report it stolen, the report said.

A detective later identified Williams and Clark from surveillance videos after conducting several encounters with the two men, the report said.

Clark also posted an Instagram Live in which he was wearing a gold chain identical to the one stolen during the robbery, the report said.

All three suspects were arrested and taken to jail. Attorney details were not available.

Police said the incident was still under investigation.
