Curtis Brooks faces charges for rage-fueled shooting in Austintown, Ohio

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A Georgia man is facing charges in connection with what Ohio State Highway Patrol officials described as a driving rage incident involving the driver of a commercial truck and a shooting.

Curtis Brooks, 28, of Dallas, Georgia, is accused of aggravated assault, tampering with evidence and discharging a firearm on a highway.


According to Sergeant Ryan Purpura of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, troopers were called to the Ohio Turnpike near the intersection with Interstate 76 in Austintown shortly after 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Purpura said in a statement there was an incident of driving aggression between two commercial vehicles in which the driver of a Kenworth semi-trailer, identified as Brooks, fired at the other commercial vehicle, hitting the trailer.

Brooks was taken into custody at the Mahoning County Jail.

No injuries were reported.
