Rembrandt man arrested after chase

A Rembrandt man was arrested shortly after an early morning chase in Buena Vista County.

According to Storm Lake Police, the incident began around 5:30 a.m. today (Tuesday) when officers observed a suspect driving recklessly. A chase ensued with the suspect, identified as Julio Garcia of Rembrandt. For public safety reasons, authorities decided to call off the pursuit. Shortly after the pursuit ended, authorities received reports that Garcia crashed near Woodlawn Cemetery in Alta and fled the scene on foot.

Storm Lake police reported later Tuesday that Garcia was arrested and taken into custody. The Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Office assisted.
