Former student opens cosmetics store at Atlanta airport

Alumna of Alabama State University, Porsha Davis has opened a high-end retail store in one of the world’s busiest airports: Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.professionally known as “Fanci, Davis is selling his aviation-themed cosmetics brand, called FlyFanci Cosmetics, which she says is “specialized for women of color.”

Fanci, a Montgomery native, graduated from Alabama State University in 2014 and is a flight attendant based in Atlanta. Atlanta Airport has become its first walk-in retail store after selling its luxury skincare products online for several years.

“My aviation-themed cosmetics line is inspired by my career,” Fanci said. “We offer a wide range of beauty products, including premium lip glosses, matte and waterproof lipsticks that are highly pigmented, smudge-proof and last up to 24 hours, which enhance our customers’ travel and everyday looks.”

Fanci’s premium product line was previously only available online at flyfancicosmetics.com but can now be viewed and purchased in its ““Spa BeRelax” Which one is located in Terminal B, near Gate B-22 of Atlanta Airport.

“This achievement is monumental, as securing retail space in such a busy location is a dream for many businesses, especially small, minority-owned businesses,” Fanci said. “My luxury skin care products are for women who want to boldly showcase their beauty or simply add a little pizzazz to their lifestyle at home or while traveling.”

Shani Crayton, executive director of the university’s strategic communications and marketing department, recently passed through the Atlanta airport on her way to a conference and was thrilled to discover such an impressive beauty venue, catering to women of color and run and owned by an Alabama State University graduate.

“Fanci’s success is a testament to their hard work and the support of a network that has championed them in key moments,” Crayton said. “Maintaining this success for Fanci and its product line requires continued support, and I hope my fellow Hornets, when they pass through the Atlanta airport, will visit the Fanci site.” BeRelax Spa and support its products, as well as the three other Atlanta-based black women-owned businesses, which are @shopki_meishon, @redliptherapy and @honeysucklemoon, all of whom have amazing products.”
