Goffstown ambulance crashes in Manchester after leaving hospital

2 were taken to hospital following the accident on Lake Avenue at Wilson Street. There were no patients in the ambulance at the time of the accident.

MANCHESTER, NH — The Goffstown Fire Department ambulance was traveling on Lake Avenue in Manchester on Wednesday, returning to town after transporting a patient to Elliot Hospital, when it was involved in an accident.

The ambulance was traveling westbound on Lake Avenue when a vehicle traveling northbound on Wilson Street entered the intersection and apparently failed to stop at a stop sign. Upon request from firefighters involved in the accident, Manchester Fire Department Fire Engine 11 and two AMR ambulances arrived at the scene.

One person from the passenger vehicle involved in the accident was transported with minor injuries, and a Goffstown Fire Department employee was admitted for medical evaluation as a precautionary measure.

The accident caused significant damage to the front of the ambulance. Both the car and the ambulance were towed from the scene of the accident.

Manchester Police are investigating the accident. The ambulance’s scope is currently being assessed by an insurance adjuster, according to Goffstown Fire Department.
