The Tozai Line in Tokyo will be partially suspended this weekend

Tokyo Metro announces that it will partially suspend operations on the Tozai Line in Tokyo this weekend. She asks passengers to use alternative routes.

The company says the route between Toyocho Station and Nishi-kasai Station will be closed for construction on Saturday and Sunday.

It said the disruption will include a suspension of direct services to the Toyo Rapid Line in Chiba Prefecture, changes to destinations, and no express trains will run.

A bus connection is offered for the suspended section. Passengers can also choose alternative transportation services, including other Tokyo subway lines as well as those of the Japan Railway Company and other companies.

According to Tokyo Metro, the work is in preparation for track and platform expansion at a station on the section to increase the line’s capacity.

The company says it plans further construction work that would involve the suspension of service on the Tozai Line.
