See who qualifies for mayor, police chief and council elections in Pointe Coupee Parish

POINTE COUPEE PARISH, Louisiana (BRPROUD) – Candidates for mayor, police chief and aldermen in the City of Livonia began qualifying Wednesday for the Nov. 5 election.

The qualifying period runs from July 17-19 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Local and municipal candidates qualify at the clerk of the parish for which they are registered. Federal and state candidates qualify at the Louisiana State Archives.


The primaries will take place on Tuesday, November 5. The race for the office of US President will also be on the ballot. The general election will decide runoffs and is scheduled for Saturday, December 7.
