Atlanta firm holds auction of historical artifacts and art, including document partly written by John Adams – WSB-TV Channel 2

ATLANTA — A live online auction from Atlanta-based Ahlers & Ogletree will feature rare historical documents and Asian artwork on Wednesday and Thursday.

Among the various documents up for auction Wednesday, the historic “Americana” auction includes documents signed by several presidents, including John Adams, John F. Kennedy, Abraham Lincoln, Dwight D. Eisenhower and many others.

There are collections of illustrations and court documents dating back to before the American Revolution, as well as historical letters and pamphlets from throughout U.S. history.

The Wednesday auction starts at 10am online.

On Thursday, auctioneers will sell a variety of Asian artworks, including Tibetan copper figurines, Chinese lacquer screens depicting various deities, Indonesian wooden masks, Mandarin-era porcelain vases and various sculptures from different eras of Japanese history, with additional works from across the Asian continent in different historical periods also available.

The auction for Asian artworks begins online at 9 a.m. Thursday.

According to Ahlers & Ogletree, in addition to online bidding, telephone and proxy bidding are also an option.
