Teenage driver killed in tragic accident

It was a deadly and dangerous weekend on Idaho’s roadways, as a teen driver was killed in a tractor-trailer crash in Twin Falls County and several semi-trailer crashes occurred in southern Idaho.

In addition, the ISP is now asking for public assistance in connection with a hit-and-run accident involving a pedestrian that occurred in late June.

Teenager killed in tractor accident in Twin Falls County

Sunday afternoon around 12:15 p.m., Idaho State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash south of Buhl in Twin Falls County. ISP report:

A yellow John Deere front-end loader, driven by a 34-year-old man, was traveling westbound on 3600 N and turning right onto 1300 E when it collided with a green 1999 Dodge Ram 2500. The pickup truck, driven by a 19-year-old man from Buhl, Idaho, was traveling southbound on 1300 E when the two vehicles collided and came to a stop in a field south of the intersection.

The driver of the Dodge Ram died of his injuries at the scene of the accident. The driver of the John Deere was not transported.

The tragic accident resulted in traffic blockages for approximately five hours while emergency personnel from ISP, Camas County, Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office, Buhl Police, Castleford Fire and QRU, Magic Valley Paramedics, Air St. Luke’s and SIRCOMM responded to the scene.

Pedestrian hit by car in southern Idaho near Wyoming border

The Idaho State Police is asking for assistance and information regarding a hit-and-run crash that occurred several weeks ago on June 28th between 4 and 5 a.m. near the Idaho-Wyoming border.

An unknown vehicle was traveling eastbound on US Highway 26 behind a pickup truck. The pickup truck swerved to the left to avoid the pedestrian. The unknown vehicle swerved to the right, struck the pedestrian, and did not stop at the scene of the accident.

The impact was minor and the driver may not be aware that he has hit anyone.

The police are asking for information from people who were at the scene at the time of the accident as witnesses or who can provide information about the accident.
