Muharram, places in Punjab where mobile service will be suspended

Lahore: The places in Punjab where mobile service is available on 9th and 10th Muharram were identified.

According to a Punjab Home Department spokesperson, mobile communications will be suspended only in areas where processions and gatherings are taking place. No city will see a complete disruption of mobile communications.

The spokesman said that in most districts of Punjab, mobile service will be partially suspended from 8 am to 10 pm on 9th and 10th Muharram. There will be no disruption in mobile service in Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Sargodha, Khushab, Sialkot, Attock, Jhelum and Chakwal.

In contrast, mobile service remains active in Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Vehari, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Okara and Chiniot. Partial disruption is observed in Gujranwala, Narowal, Toba Tek Singh, Bhakkar, Mandi Bahauddin, Wazirabad, Rajanpur, Faisalabad, Bahawalnagar and Hafizabad.

In Rawalpindi, mobile service will be suspended in 28 locations, 15 in Rahim Yar Khan, 11 each in Mianwali and Bahawalpur, 10 in Layyah, 7 in Muzaffargarh and 6 in Nankana Sahib. The suspension of service in these areas will take place on 9th and 10th of Muharram.

The speaker also mentioned that on Sunday, the 7th of Muharram, The mobile service has been discontinued in selected areas of Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Jhang, Bahawalpur and Bahawalnagar. The decision to suspend mobile service in certain locations has been taken to ensure peace and security for the citizens.
