A shooting at a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday (local time) that left Trump injured has heightened concerns about political violence and raised awareness of previous attacks and assassination attempts against presidents and candidates, CBS News reported.

According to a 2008 report by the Congressional Research Service, there were 15 direct attacks on presidents, presidents-elect and candidates, five of which resulted in death, according to CBS News. Thirteen of the 45 sitting presidents have been assassinated or had assassinations attempted. That number does not include the Trump shooting incident.
