Murder investigation underway in Edmond after body found

EDMOND, Oklahoma (KFOR) – A harrowing 911 call led investigators to a suspected dead body at Coltrane Mini Storage in Edmond.

According to Edmond police, the suspect is 36-year-old Kyle Fedus.

He was arrested Saturday at an Edmond LaQuinta hotel on an outstanding North Carolina warrant for violating probation in connection with a robbery.

According to police, he also made a shocking confession.

“He eventually confessed to a pact he made with this woman in which they would both take their lives in front of this warehouse. That’s his side of the story. We don’t know hers, of course,” said Emily Ward of Edmond police.

According to the affidavit, Fedus said he and the victim, Elyse Betz, were hiding from police in Oklahoma because of his warrant, and if caught, they would both commit suicide by injecting themselves with lethal drugs.

The affidavit also states that the suspect used a pre-made syringe containing a mixture of fentanyl and meth.

Investigators say the relationship between the two has not been confirmed. However, police say the two stayed together at a Best Western in Edmond.

Edmond police say Elyse was found lying on her stomach and that the suspect did not call 9-1-1.

Elyse’s family has been notified.

According to Edmond police, Fedus was charged with first-degree murder and is now in the Oklahoma County Jail.
