Victim identified after drowning accident at Pitts Park in Ware Shoals | News

The Laurens County Coroner’s Office has identified the person who drowned Sunday in the Saluda River at Pitts Park in Ware Shoals.

Deputy Coroner Patti Canupp said she responded to a 911 call about a drowning at around 3:30 p.m.

Canupp identified the victim as Diego Armada Alvarez-Munez, a 38-year-old man from Mexico. According to Canupp, the victim was in Laurens County on business.

This is the same place where Juan Otoniel Antonio Simon drowned on June 23.
