Chicago Bears top list, but aren’t giving up on Buffalo Bills prematurely

Wait what? Isn’t that the bandwagon that everyone is jumping on disabled? Yeah. But the mass exodus seems reckless – and it frees up all the premium seats!

Look, it’s not hard to understand why the vibrations are down. In January, Buffalo was eliminated from the playoffs by Kansas City for the third time in the last four seasons. In March, the cap-strapped Bills hemorrhaged a number of long-time role players, including C Mitch Morse, WR Gabe Davis, CB Tre’Davious White and S Jordan Poyer. In April, the Stefon Diggs drama ended with a trade to Houston.

Despite all of this, Buffalo still has two major assets: an elite quarterback and a head coach who puts up a solid defense every year. Josh Allen and Sean McDermott also have another thing working in their favor: ownership of the AFC East, with the Bills winning four straight titles. And looking around the division, they still seem like the cream of the crop to me. The Jets could certainly make a push, but this roster is full of potential pitfalls. The Dolphins finally proved themselves to be paper tigers last season, and now they’re hollowed out in the trenches. Finally, the Patriots are clearly rebuilding.

2024 has been a rough year for the Bills so far, but jumping off the bandwagon seems premature. After all, if you’ll allow me to close this off-season fashion vehicle with a good old cliché, it’s always darkest before dawn.
