Suspect taken into custody for sexual assault in UCLA dorm

Authorities say the person suspected of sexually assaulting a student in a dorm room at the University of California, Los Angeles is in custody.

UCLA campus police said the attack occurred around 2:40 a.m. Friday in the Saxon Suites dormitory building.

According to officials, the suspect entered her room while she was sleeping and sexually assaulted her before leaving the scene.

In a press release, police described the suspect as a bearded, stocky white man in his thirties.

Authorities now believe the suspect is in custody. Further details, including the suspect’s identity or any charges, were not immediately released.
