Police investigate after woman found dead in wooded area in West Chester

West Chester police identified a woman who was found dead in a wooded area next to a shopping center on Schumacher Park Drive on Sunday evening. According to Barb Wilson, director of public information and community engagement, the body was discovered around 5:50 p.m. by an employee of one of the businesses in the area. The Butler County Coroner was called to the scene and recovered the body from the wooded area. On Monday, police identified the woman as 33-year-old Brittany Sands. Police said Sands is from Kentucky but is known to frequent downtown Cincinnati. It is currently unknown how she ended up there. Officers are asking anyone with details on Sands and her last whereabouts, or who has information that could help police in this case, to contact West Chester police or the tip line at 513-759-7272.
