11 injured in escalator malfunction at American Family Field

The Brewers said six people were hospitalized.

The Milwaukee Brewers said 11 people were injured in an escalator incident at American Family Field on Saturday afternoon. Tyler Barnes, senior vice president of communications and affiliate operations for the Brewers, told 12 News that the escalator that transported fans from the stands to the box malfunctioned, “resulting in an increased downward speed.” Barnes said 11 people were injured and six were hospitalized. The injuries were not believed to be life-threatening. “Our on-site doctor and EMS were immediately on the scene and we are grateful for their quick response,” Barnes said.
