Shooting in Carol Stream followed incident of driving aggression, police say – NBC Chicago

According to police, one person was taken into custody late Thursday night in the suburb of Carol Stream for a shooting that stemmed from an incident of road rage.

At about 8 p.m., officers from the Carol Stream Police Department were called to a parking lot in the 400 block of West Army Trail Road for a report of a man being shot, authorities said. Officers arrived to find a man who had been shot in the leg.

He was taken to a nearby hospital and underwent surgery, police said. The victim’s condition is said to have stabilized by Friday afternoon.

Officers quickly gathered information on the suspect, located him at his residence and arrested him without incident, police said. Police said preliminary information indicated the shooting was the result of an incident of road rage, but did not provide further details about the incident.

As of Friday afternoon, no charges had been filed.

The suspect remained in police custody pending further investigations.
