Worker injured in accident at British biofuel plant

A worker has been seriously injured following an incident at a biofuel plant in Teesside.
An investigation has been launched after a person was injured at Greenergy Biofuels Teesside Ltd on Seal Sands Road on May 7.
Emergency services attended the scene at around 9am and North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) confirmed that one person was taken to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough for treatment.
NEAS previously confirmed it had dispatched an ambulance crew, a specialist paramedic, a clinical team leader and a crew from our Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) to the scene. Assistance was also requested from the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS), which drove to the factory with a rapid response vehicle.
A Greenergy spokesman said: “We can confirm that an incident occurred at our biofuels plant in Teesside this morning (Tuesday). An ambulance was deployed and someone was taken to hospital. We are monitoring the situation and a full investigation is underway.”
A Cleveland Police spokesman said: “Officers were called to an incident at Greenergy Biofuels Teesside this morning (May 7). A man suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. The health and safety officer has been notified.”
