Man found dead after suspected drowning on Lake Clementine Trail

AUBURN, Calif. – One person is dead after authorities responded to a reported drowning accident on Lake Clementine Trail Monday evening.

According to California State Parks, three people attempted to swim across the North Fork American River before being swept downstream by the current. The incident was reported around 5:17 p.m.

Rescuers found a teenager, described only as male, performed CPR and took him to a hospital. Another teenager, also male, was found unharmed and pulled from the water.

The third person, a man in his 50s, was found dead in the water. Authorities are still trying to recover the body.
