Motorcyclist killed in accident pursued by Middletown police

Authorities say the motorcyclist who died in a crash with an SUV in Middletown on Saturday night was involved in a chase with police.

According to state police, before 7:30 p.m., the Middletown Police Department pursued a 2003 Yamaha R1 motorcycle traveling eastbound on Dolson Avenue at a high rate of speed.

According to state police, the motorcyclist, identified as 19-year-old Noe Dominguez of New Hampton, collided with a 2020 Chevrolet Equinox that was turning left from Dolson Avenue onto Route 6 heading west.

Dominguez was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Both vehicles were damaged and airbags deployed in the SUV.

The driver of the SUV was taken to Garnet Health Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
