SAN DIEGO, CA (June 21, 2024) – A man died in a motorcycle crash on Freeway 5 near Carmel Valley Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal motorcycle accident occurred around 1:00 a.m. on Thursday. For unknown reasons, a 35-year-old man from San Diego crashed his Indian motorcycle into the back of a Mini Cooper. Paramedics arrived shortly thereafter near the Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve.

When paramedics arrived, they found the 35-year-old man, who had also been hit by an oncoming Nissan Sentra. Due to his condition, paramedics took him to the hospital, where he died.

Authorities have not yet identified him.

Following the accident, officials closed the southbound side of the highway to investigate the accident. If anyone has any additional information, please contact local authorities.
