Woody Harrelson was involved in a bad motorcycle accident, but a “Cheers” co-star came to his aid

It’s great to have friends who will stand by you when you’re depressed or hurting and need help. Woody Harrelson fits the latter point.

In the podcast “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend,” Harrelson describes in detail the motorcycle accident he had on the way to the interview. Luckily, he was wearing his helmet during the accident. But he is very embarrassed by the incident. “A crash is a fair term. I actually flew over my handlebars,” explains Woody. “I passed this Tesla on the left side, which was honestly embarrassing, and I didn’t realize he was going slow because he was turning left.”

He adds that he feels his motorcycle is the fastest way to get around Los Angeles. Given the traffic, his logic is hard to fault. On the day of the podcast, however, Harrelson is a little behind. Nevertheless, Woody endures the pain and when he arrives at the studio, Bottom up Star Ted Danson sees him. Danson is there to record the interview with Harrelson. But when he sees Woody with an injured wrist, he springs into action.

Of course, the two keep it casual, despite the motorcycle accident and all. “We’re in the bathroom and I said, ‘You’re playing a doctor, right?’ And Ted said, ‘I also played a lawyer, so we can sue the guy,'” Woody laughs.

Woody also opens up for a moment. After explaining how Danson cleans his wound, Harrelson emphasizes his friend’s admirable qualities. He says: “His confidence, his demeanor, everything about the way he does it makes you feel like you’re in the best hands. I never doubted him.”

This came shortly after Ted Danson and Woody Harrelson announced their new joint podcast. Funnily enough, it’s Conan O’Brien’s production team that’s acquiring the show. Understandably, why they’re going on his show is for promotional purposes. “Where Everybody Knows Your Name with Ted Danson and Woody Harrelson (Sometimes)” is a traditional podcast format. The highlight is the chemistry Ted and Woody have with the guests and each other. “The best thing about this podcast is that it’s given me an excuse to hang out with Ted,” Harrelson says in a statement announcing the podcast. “Sure, we’ll talk to interesting guests and of course we’ll share a few laughs along the way, but the biggest win will be seeing our romance, I mean friendship, rekindled after all this time. And I’m glad listeners can be there.”
