1 dead in traffic accident in Florence County, highway patrol said

FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WBTW) — One person was killed in a traffic crash in Florence County Friday morning, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred at about 5:29 a.m. on Secondary Highway 606 near Highway 401, about 3.6 miles east of Olanta, highway patrol said.


The driver of a 2017 GMC 1500 pickup truck was traveling north on Secondary Highway 606 when he left the left side of the road and overturned, highway patrol said.

The driver was the only person in the vehicle and died at the scene. The accident remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
