Port Arthur man charged with sex crimes against children

Jesse Jesus Salinas is charged with sexual abuse of a child and aggravated sexual abuse of a child.

PORT ARTHUR, Texas – A Port Arthur man faces charges of sexual abuse of a child and aggravated sexual assault of a child.

83-year-old Jesse Jesus Salinas is accused of numerous sex crimes against children.

In 2015, a possible abuse of a child was reported to a security guard at a middle school. The first victim’s phone was confiscated and messages describing the alleged abuse were found.

Nine years later, in 2024, the first victim filed charges against Salinas, alleging that he sexually abused her multiple times when she was 15 years old.

In 2019, charges were filed against Salinas for two more male victims. The case was investigated and one of the victims admitted to being sexually abused by Salinas, but chose not to press charges at the time. The case was dismissed in 2021.

When the new case against Salinas was investigated in 2024, the second victim was contacted and asked if she would like to reconsider filing charges against Salinas, which she did.

The second victim told investigators that the sexual assaults occurred over a period of eight years, between the ages of five and 13.
