Suspected thief arrested at Cove Marina by Norwalk police on Tuesday

Christopher McClain, 19, is charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree trespassing and fifth-degree theft.

NORWALK, Connecticut – Norwalk police announced Tuesday that a man was arrested in connection with an incident at Cove Marina last month.

Christopher McClain, 19, of Redding, is charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree trespassing and fifth-degree theft.

According to Norwalk police, on May 17, two men climbed over the fence at the Cove Marina to gain access to the docks and then broke into two docked boats. Police said the men took tools and alcohol.

After gathering video and information, Norwalk police officers discovered that Fairfield police had experienced a similar incident at one of their marinas in which McClain was the suspect. Norwalk police said that through surveillance, they were able to positively identify McClain and the vehicle he used in the crime.

An arrest warrant was issued and McClain was arrested without incident on Tuesday, according to police. McClain was arraigned and his bail was set at $25,000. He is due in court in Stamford on June 25, police said.
