BCSO responds to “active shots fired incident” on Old Knoxville Highway near Jacob Springs Road

BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. – The Blount County Sheriff’s Department is on the scene of a shooting on Old Knoxville Highway near Jacob Springs Road Tuesday afternoon.

BCSO urged residents of Jacob Springs Road to remain in their homes and asked that you find an alternate route around the area as the road will be closed for an unknown amount of time.

Authorities have not released any information about victims or who was involved in the shooting.
