Drug investigation leads to charges against Lawrence resident: PD

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ — A 25-year-old Lawrenceville resident was arrested and charged with drug offenses following a two-week investigation, Police Chief Chris Longo said.

On Tuesday, around 6 a.m., Lawrence Township Police detectives executed a search warrant on a residence in the first block of Woodmont Drive. “The execution of the search warrant was the result of a two-week drug investigation conducted by the Lawrence Township Police,” Longo said.

Ahsan Shaikh, 25, was arrested and charged with weapon defacement, manufacturing firearms using a 3D printer, manufacturing concealed or undetectable firearms, possession of prohibited weapons and devices, large capacity magazines and criminal damage, among other offenses.

Shaikh was taken to the Mercer County Correctional Center to await his detention hearing.

The Lawrence Township Police Department was assisted by the Mercer County Narcotics Task Force and Tactical Response Team.
