More heat, isolated showers possible

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – After the sweltering weekend, we’re hoping to keep temperatures as controlled as possible this work week. Starting today, there will be more sun than clouds with a 30 percent chance of afternoon showers/thunderstorms and highs around 35 degrees.

Tonight it will be partly cloudy with a 20 percent chance of showers in the early evening, otherwise mild and dry.

The GRAF model shows what the future radar could look like this afternoon and also in the coming afternoons. Mainly isolated storms are possible, but nothing serious.

Humidity levels are expected to decline somewhat by mid-week, but then rise again toward the end of the week, leading to higher heat index values ​​by the end of the week.

According to the WPC, our area will receive between half an inch and an inch of precipitation over the next seven days.

In the short term, Thursday and Friday will be very hot and dry, with a slight chance of rain expected next weekend.
