68,500 Kawasaki lawn mower engines recalled – KIRO 7 News Seattle

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a recall of 68,500 Kawasaki engines used in tractors and mowers sold under brand names such as Cub Cadet, John Deere and Kubota, among others.

According to the CPSC, the motors can overheat and cause burns to the user.

The following engines from model years 2021 to 2023 are affected by the recall:

  • FJ400D
  • FS600V
  • FS651V
  • FX691V
  • FX730V
  • FX801V
  • FX850V
  • FXT00V

The model and serial number are located on the engine fan housing.

Kawasaki has listed all serial numbers affected by the recall on the company’s website.
