Motorcyclist arrested after short chase in northwest Miami-Dade

MIAMI DADE COUNTY, Florida. – A motorcyclist was arrested Wednesday after a brief chase with police in northwest Miami-Dade, authorities confirmed.

According to Florida Highway Patrol Lieutenant Alex Camacho, officers noticed the motorcyclist was driving recklessly and attempted to stop her.

This reportedly began in the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 near Northwest 135th Street.

But Camacho said the motorcyclist fled from police, which led to a chase.

He said the chase was brief and ended when the motorcyclist collided with an SUV marked FHP in the area of ​​Northwest Seventh Avenue and 160th Street.

The motorcyclist, identified as Daniela Montoya, 30, was taken to HCA Florida Aventura Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Camacho said.

He confirmed that the police officer involved in the accident was not injured.
