Michael Wynter was jailed after raping a woman in Pinner, Harrow

Michael Wynter, 34, of Crayshaw Road, Lambeth, appeared at the Old Bailey on Tuesday (April 30) where he was jailed for the crime, which occurred between 2019 and 2021.

He reportedly raped the victim while she was asleep or unconscious and was arrested in December 2021.

During the investigation, officers collected communication evidence from both Wynter and the victim’s devices.

They spoke to a witness the victim had confided in throughout the ordeal and used a detailed statement from the victim as further evidence.

Wynter was found to be on the sex offenders’ register as of 2021, having been convicted of sexually assaulting a child between 2002 and 2003.

He has since been sentenced to seven years in prison on April 30 and remains on the sex offenders register for life.

Detective Constable Adam Conibeere, who led the investigation, called Wynter “an extreme sexual deviant” and praised the woman for her courage.

He said: “I can only hope that this outcome will give her some comfort and give her the closure she deserves as she tries to move on with her life.”

“She showed incredible strength and heroism when, after much consideration, she came forward to report the matter because she did not want anyone else to suffer at Wynter’s hands.

“Tackling violence against women and girls is a top priority for the Met. We will continue to do everything we can to remove predatory offenders from the streets of London, while supporting complainants and helping them at every stage.”
