Stolen cargo trailer seized, suspect arrested

(COLORADO SPRINGS) – On Friday, May 31, the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) received an online report of a stolen cargo trailer, which was later recovered with the victim’s assistance, according to CSPD.

After filing the online report, the victim found his trailer in a yard in the 2300 block of West Bijou Street in Old Colorado City and notified police. According to CSPD, officers responded and made contact with the person living in the home and others on scene.

According to CSPD, the “local resident reported that the trailer had turned up and was left behind by a friend.” Officers confirmed that the trailer was the one reported stolen, but noted that the contents had been removed.

After officers obtained a search warrant for the home and a vehicle, they recovered most of the stolen goods inside. The resident was arrested and taken to the county jail.
