A man from Massachusetts had an accident at the State Police weigh station in Kittery

A Massachusetts man died early Saturday morning after a crash on the Maine Turnpike. Chhoeunly Phoeung, 36, was driving south on the Maine Turnpike at 3:10 a.m. when he left the road and struck several objects at the State Police weigh station in Kittery. Officials say he got out of his car and ran into oncoming traffic, where he was struck by a semi-truck. Phoeung was taken to Portsmouth Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Maine State Police are investigating.

KITTERY, Maine —

A Massachusetts man was killed in an accident on the Maine Turnpike early Saturday morning.

Chhoeunly Phoeung, 36, was driving south on the Maine Turnpike at 3:10 a.m. when he left the road and struck several objects at the State Police weigh station in Kittery.

Officials say he got out of his car and ran into oncoming traffic, where he was struck by a semi-truck. Phoeung was taken to Portsmouth Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Maine State Police are investigating.
