Actress Anjali downplays Nandamuri Balakrishna incident

A controversy erupted when Telugu superstar Nandamuri Balakrishna was seen pushing actress Anjali away from the stage during a promotional event for her upcoming film ‘Gangs of Godavari’. The incident sparked an uproar on social media with users criticising the superstar and demanding either a boycott of his films or an apology from him. This prompted the actress to post to clear the air. Anjali posted on her social media handle, “I would like to thank Balakrishna garu for gracing the pre-release event of ‘Gangs of Godavari’ with his presence. I would like to express that Balakrishna garu and I have always maintained that we have mutual respect and have shared a great friendship for a long time.”

She concluded by saying, “It was wonderful to share the stage with him again. @VishwakSenActor @vamsi84 @SitharaEnts #KrishnaChaitanya” According to Anjali, she and Balakrishna seemed to be just having some fun on stage, but some people were interpreting the superstar’s actions with more than was warranted. Gangs of Godavari is an action drama written and directed by Krishna Chaitanya and is slated to hit the screens on May 31. The film stars Vishwak Sen, Anjali, Neha Shetty, Nassar and P. Sai Kumar.
