Man killed while working on construction site in Schertz, police said

SAN ANTONIO – According to Schertz police, a 40-year-old man was killed while working at a construction site in Schertz Tuesday afternoon.

The incident occurred shortly before 4:30 p.m. in a field in the 17000 block of Tejas Way, near FM 3009 and Nacogdoches Road.

According to police, rescue workers found a dead man when they arrived. Police say he died while working for Yantis Construction Company at the construction site. However, it is unclear exactly how the man died.

Yantis Construction Company is currently cooperating with investigators. The name of the man killed has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

Schertz police said the death was under investigation and that OSHA had also been notified because the accident occurred at a construction site.
