Police ask public for help in armed robbery investigation | Iowa City

IOWA CITY, Iowa (KWWL) – Iowa City Police are asking for the public’s help in investigating an armed robbery.

On Monday, May 27, at approximately 10:00 p.m., officers were called to the 1300 block of South Gilbert Street for a report of an adult male being robbed.

The man stated that he was walking north on the nearby railroad tracks when he was approached by another man and a woman and then robbed at knifepoint.

One attacker was described as a black man in his early 30s, approximately 5’6″ tall, with short hair and wearing black clothing. He was carrying a folding knife.

The other attacker was described as a black woman, approximately 28 years old, 5’3″ tall, with short curly hair and gray clothing.
