Authorities are investigating three robberies at Long Beach supermarkets, two of which occurred Sunday morning.

At around 12:15 a.m. Sunday, officers were dispatched to a convenience store in the 2000 block of Cherry Avenue, where a suspect attempting to purchase various items allegedly showed the clerk a gun, Long Beach police said. The man demanded cash from the register, the store clerk complied and the suspect fled the scene on foot, police said.

Just before 4 a.m. Sunday morning, three male and one female suspects entered a convenience store in the 5000 block of Long Beach Boulevard, where one of the men reached over the counter and stole the cash register, LBPD reported. All four suspects fled the scene in a vehicle before police arrived. No injuries were reported.

Around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, police were called to a convenience store at 3410 Long Beach Blvd. Two men had entered the store and gone behind the counter, where one of them reached into his waistband and pretended to have a gun, police said. The suspect demanded cash and fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

It was initially unclear whether there was a connection between the robberies.
