Motorcyclist killed in accident in Mecosta County

MECOSTA COUNTY, Michigan – A motorcyclist was killed Sunday evening after a deer on the road caused him to crash.

Officials said the accident occurred at around 5:15 p.m. at the intersection of 20 Mile Road and 80th Avenue in Mecosta County. The motorcyclist was traveling eastbound when he swerved to avoid a deer in the road, causing the motorcycle to leave the road and crash.

The man, identified as 32-year-old Dustin Hyden of Evart, was taken to a hospital for treatment. Officials say he later died from his injuries.

Several authorities were on their way to the scene of the accident.
